The Private Allocator is a publication by Nick Bryant for accredited individuals learning to compare private-market investments. We explain investment categories, examine the evidence and provide blank tools for recording commitments and liquidity needs. We do not recommend securities or managers.
The whole portfolio
Our scope includes angel investing, venture from early through growth and late stage, lower-market and large private equity, secondaries, private credit, real assets, and small-business and search-fund investing.
Portfolio practice deserves the same attention: commitments, capital calls, liquidity ladders, K-1s, quarterly reviews and investment policy. These decisions sit alongside the time, family commitments and spending needs the portfolio supports.
